Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 381 Overview
This Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 381 for Sale is a lovely boat – her type was met with positive reviews when launched as being a versatile and capable cruising yacht attractive to those whose wish was to have a boat that offered great accommodation, lots of space and comfort; all in a package that comes with a bulb keel producing 1.62m draft, notably less than its fin keeled peers.
Spiritus of Salcombe is the owners’ version of the Beneteau Oceanis 381. Featuring two generous cabins, and two heads (both with shower attachments to tap) This 1999 model was first launched in 2000. Her current owner has had her since 2016 and has carried out a number of upgrades including new standing rigging and sails in 2017. copper coating in 2019 and more recently a new chart plotter to helm. All sails valeted in 2024.

Cabin
Spiritus of Salcombe is the owners’ version of the Beneteau Oceanis 381.
The forward cabin is spacious and provides a generous double berth. There is lots of storage underneath in addition to the hanging locker. Included is it’s own heads with manual sea toilet (new in 2021) and shower fitting off the basin.
The saloon offers lots of seating around a good size table. The addition of a bench can provide extra seating when required and opposite there is seating for a further two.
New cushions and covers were fitted in 2024 further enhancing the appeal and the cold is kept at bay by an Eberspacher diesel fired heater.
The aft cabin offers a large double berth with windows allowing plenty of light and blinds for privacy.
Opposite is another large heads that also includes a manual toilet (new in 2021) and a shower attachment off the sink.
Hot water is provided by way of engine and shore power via a calorifier
Just forward of the galley is a forward-facing fridge in addition to the top loading cold store. The galley also offers two stainless steel sinks and an ENO gas oven with 2 burners.

This is very much a sociable boat with a large cockpit offering plenty of seating, a convenience step thorough to the swim platform and swim ladder where the safety equipment including life raft (out of date) is stored.

Construction
The Beneteau Oceanis 381 features a solid fiberglass monolithic hull combined with an internal structural grid and a balsa-cored sandwich deck. Made from solid, hand-laid glass-reinforced polyester (GRP) below and above the waterline, with no core in the hull, preventing hull delamination. The internal grid uses a moulded fiberglass structural grid that is chemically bonded to the hull to distribute keel and rig loads evenly.
Conventional fin keel with a bulb, cast iron construction, attached with heavy bolts (replaced 2017) to the structural matrix.
