The Beneteau Oceanis 381 was met with positive reviews when launched as being a versatile and capable cruising yacht attractive to those whose wish was to have a boat that offered great accommodation, lots of space and comfort; all in a package that comes with a bulb keel producing 1.62m draft, notably less than its fin keeled peers.
Spiritus of Salcombe is the owners’ version of the Beneteau Oceanis 381. Featuring two generous cabins, and two heads (both with shower attachments to tap) This 1999 model was first launched in 2000. Her current owner has had her since 2016 and has carried out a number of upgrades including new standing rigging and sails in 2017. copper coating in 2019 and more recently a new chart plotter to helm. All sails valeted in 2024.
Deck
In 2021 – New Lewmar Delta Anchor and New 45mm 10mm Chain. In 2020 – new bow roller and and forestay fitted. In 2019 – hull coppercoated and Lofrans Kobra Windlass fitted. In 2017 – keel bolts changed. New cushions and covers fitted in 2024.
Cabin
2 cabins and 2 heads compartments (with large toilet and standard toilet – new in 2021). Hot and cold water. Diesel fired heating.
Cockpit & Dash
This is very much a sociable boat with a large cockpit offering plenty of seating, a convenience step thorough to the swim platform and swim ladder where the safety equipment including life raft (out of date) is stored.
Sails & Spars
New Sails & Stack Pack and new standing rigging- fitted in 2017 and valeted in 2024.
Electrical & Electronics
Raymarine Element 12s Chart Plotter, new radar and i50 depth gauge – fitted in 2021. Stirling battery charger – fitted in 2020. 2,000w Pure sine wave inverter fitted in 2017. Forward facing fridge in addition to the top loading cold store. Solar panels and a gas monitor. 3x House batteries (replaced 2023).

Yanmar 4JH3E shaft drive – 56hp. 3 bladed propeller fitted in 2022. Stern glands and cutlass bearing fitted in 2021. Gauges fitted to water tanks in 2020.
