Beneteau Flyer 9 Spacedeck Overview
The Beneteau Flyer 9 Spacedeck is a serious step up in size and capability within the Flyer range, delivering an open, highly adaptable platform that feels equally at home as a dedicated sports boat, fishing machine, or fast coastal cruiser. Built on Beneteau’s proven Air Step® hull, it offers confident handling, strong stability, and impressive efficiency, giving you the reassurance to push further offshore while still enjoying a smooth, controlled ride.
The Flyer 9 builds on the dynamic, elegant reputation of its predecessor, the Flyer 8.8, adding greater comfort and space on board through more optimised modularity. It’s offered in two hull layouts (Sundeck and Spacedeck) and two upholstery styles (Standard and Elegance), with a distinctive Pilot Edition also available for those wanting something more individual.
The defining characteristic of the Flyer 9 Spacedeck is its completely open deck layout. Space has been prioritised above all else, creating a wide, uncluttered working and social area that can be configured to suit almost any on-water activity – from watersports and diving to serious fishing trips or relaxed days at anchor.

Performance & Handling
The Flyer 9 Spacedeck is built on Beneteau’s patented Air Step® hull, a technology designed to improve lift, reduce drag, and enhance comfort at speed, allowing the boat to plane efficiently and maintain stability even as the sea state builds. It’s a hull designed for real-world boating, where conditions are rarely perfect but expectations remain high.
Beneteau specifies a maximum motorisation of up to 500hp for the Flyer 9 Spacedeck, with a top speed in excess of 40 knots. Multiple engine configurations are available, along with a wide range of factory options, so the boat can be tailored to suit anything from offshore adventure to family days out.
The boat responds cleanly and predictably at the helm, giving a real sense of control across a variety of conditions – whether cruising at displacement speed or opening the throttles for a faster passage offshore.

An Open, Adaptable Deck Layout
With two usable cockpit areas, the Flyer 9 Spacedeck combines the advantages of a bowrider with those of a cabin boat, giving a passenger capacity of up to 10. The main aft cockpit is arranged around a centre console with two pilot seats, an aft sofa, a folding seat and a removable table, while the forward cockpit’s seating transforms into a large sunbathing platform when it’s not needed for guests.
Forward, the open bow area can be left completely clear for easy circulation, or configured with an additional seat option to create a comfortable front lounge that converts into a large sunbathing platform. A large anchor locker is fitted as standard, with a bow platform, windlass and anchoring kit all available as options.
One of the standout new features on the Flyer 9 is the opening side platform to port – a sea-view terrace that considerably enlarges the cockpit and offers easy, direct access for swimming, with a telescopic swimming ladder folding out beneath it.

Two Berths and a Head for Overnight Trips
Despite its Spacedeck layout, the Flyer 9 can accommodate four people overnight thanks to two separate berths below deck – a forward cabin double and a mid-cabin double, each with an optional mattress.
The forward cabin offers wooden stowage compartments to port, starboard and forward, plus access to the battery switch and fuse box. A separate head is fitted alongside, with a washbasin, storage rail, mirror, and a shower included in the Comfort trim level. The mid-cabin sits beneath the cockpit, with a mattress measuring 1.84m x 1.40m available as an optional extra.
Throughout the interior, Alpi walnut woodwork is paired with brown oak laminated floors for a warm, finished feel that belies the boat’s open-hulled, sporty character.

A Wet Bar Built for Entertaining
Rather than a traditional galley, the Flyer 9 Spacedeck is fitted with a wet bar tucked beneath the leaning post, equipped with a fridge, a sink, and a worktop – with space for an optional gas cooktop or oven in the Comfort trim level. A sink with two bowls and a teak worktop is also fitted in the cockpit galley area.
It’s a practical, sociable setup designed for entertaining on the water, whether that’s preparing drinks and light meals at anchor or keeping the day running smoothly during a longer trip offshore.
A Sociable Cockpit for Every Occasion
The wide, deep, self-bailing cockpit is designed for flexibility. The three-person cockpit seat, complete with a fixed backrest and stainless steel handrail, converts into a sun deck, while a removable wooden cockpit table – or, on the Elegance and Pilot Edition versions, a teak-topped table on a telescopic pedestal that seats up to seven – makes the space equally suited to dining or entertaining at anchor.
A large, lockable central cockpit locker with gas-piston-assisted opening provides useful stowage, with further storage found under the central and side cockpit seating.

Safe and Practical Deck Layout
Getting around the Flyer 9 Spacedeck has been carefully thought through. Secure catwalks run along both side decks (0.37m wide port and starboard), with a stainless steel forward handrail and pulpits for safety.
At the stern, two access points lead to the bathing platform alongside two safety gates, with a telescopic swimming ladder folding out beneath the port side platform, complete with its own handrail. Twin roto-moulded fuel tanks (2 x 200 litres as standard, or 2 x 288 litres as an option) are housed in a waterproof, ventilated compartment at the bottom of the cockpit, well out of the way of guests.
Confidence at the Helm
The helm is designed to feel modern, purposeful and commanding. A raised centre console provides excellent visibility, with a dashboard laid out for electronics up to a 12″ screen, along with rpm and trim gauges, a fuel gauge and a USB socket. Hydraulic steering, fitted footrests and a high-comfort leaning post bench with a built-in bolster function keep pilot and co-pilot comfortable and in control, whether cruising steadily or pushing on for faster offshore passages.
Access to the cabin is via a sliding door in translucent grey PMMA, keeping the transition between cockpit and accommodation simple and secure.

A Connected Boat
Through the Seanapps mobile app and onboard unit, owners can check the status of the boat’s systems – including battery charge, fuel and water tank levels, and maintenance scheduling – straight from their smartphone, as well as plan routes and review sailing status on the move.
Why Choose the Beneteau Flyer 9 Spacedeck?
What sets the Flyer 9 Spacedeck apart is its sheer adaptability. It’s a boat that can be rigged for a serious day’s fishing, loaded up with friends for watersports and sunbathing, or used as a sociable, family-friendly cruiser – often all in the same weekend – while still offering genuine overnight capability for four thanks to its two berths and separate head.
For boaters who want the open-plan versatility of a sports boat without giving up cabin comfort, the Beneteau Flyer 9 Spacedeck is a compelling choice, with a Pilot Edition available for those who want something a little more distinctive.

Beneteau Flyer 9 Spacedeck FAQ
How many people can the Beneteau Flyer 9 Spacedeck carry?
With its two-cockpit layout, the Flyer 9 Spacedeck has a passenger capacity of up to 10 people during the day, while its two below-deck berths allow up to 4 people to stay onboard overnight.
What is the Air Step® hull, and why does it matter?
Air Step® is Beneteau’s patented hull technology, designed to improve lift and reduce drag. On the Flyer 9 Spacedeck, this translates into an efficient, stable ride that holds its composure as sea conditions build.
What’s the difference between the Beneteau Flyer 9 Spacedeck and the Flyer 9 Sundeck?
Both share the same Air Step® hull and outboard power, but the deck layouts differ. The Spacedeck is built around a central console with a second, open forward cockpit in place of a cabin, giving two sociable areas for guests. The Sundeck instead has a forward cabin structure beneath a broad, continuous sunbathing bow – a layout better suited to those who want more time sunbathing up front, with slightly less open social space.
