Jeanneau Sun Dance 36 Overview
This Jeanneau Sun Dance 36 is a well-designed and capable family cruising yacht, offering an excellent combination of sailing performance, spacious accommodation and comfortable cruising. Designed by Daniel Andrieu, the Sun Dance 36 has a practical layout with generous deck space, an ergonomic cockpit and a spacious interior, making her particularly well suited to family cruising and longer passages.

Cabin
Offering accommodation for up to eight berths in four cabins, the Sun Dance 36 provides a spacious and practical interior with good ventilation and standing headroom throughout.
The forward cabin has a generous V-berth, hanging locker, washbasin and opening hatch to the foredeck.
Moving aft into the main saloon, there is a large dinette to starboard with a generous seating area around the saloon table. The saloon table can be converted to provide an additional double berth. Opposite is the linear galley, while the forward-facing chart table is situated to port with the electrical distribution panel and navigation equipment.
The galley is equipped with a two-burner gimballed gas cooker with oven and grill, stainless-steel sink and pressurised hot and cold water system, together with a seawater foot pump. The front-opening refrigerator was replaced in 2020.
Aft are two separate double cabins, each with hanging lockers and useful stowage. The starboard aft cabin benefits from its own en-suite heads compartment with marine toilet, shower and washbasin.
The interior has grey upholstery, updated in 2020, together with timber joinery and practical storage throughout. Nordkapp 5kW diesel heating system with digital and app control. Clock & Barometer.

Masthead rigged Bermudan sloop. Deck-stepped alloy mast and alloy boom. Stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2018. Terylene running rigging replaced in 2018. Slab-reefing mainsail with lazyjacks. Goiot headsail furling system. Harken self-tailing sheet winches. Harken self-tailing halyard winches. Spinnaker pole.

Machinery
Located centrally within the saloon in an insulated engine compartment is the Yanmar 3YM30 marine diesel engine. Three-cylinder, 27hp, naturally aspirated. Freshwater cooled via a heat exchanger. Electric start. Single-lever controls (new 2024). Shaft drive to a fixed three-bladed bronze propeller (new 2024). Engine was serviced in 2026, with a new water pump also fitted in 2026. Engine mounts and exhaust were previously replaced in 2021. 150-litre stainless steel fuel tank provides an approximate range of 400 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 5 knots.

Construction
Built by Jeanneau in 1989 and designed by Daniel Andrieu. White GRP monohull with style stripes. White GRP superstructure with a teak laid deck. Cast iron fin keel. Keel bolts were replaced in 2021. Wheel steering with rod steering linkage to a spade hung rudder. Aft self-draining cockpit with a teak laid finish (re-newed in 2003.) Gelshield treatment in 1990 and 2003 as a preventative measure. Last surveyed in 2024 and a copy of the survey available.
