Custom Blue Water Explorer Adventure Ketch Overview
Built in the Almaz yard, this Blue Water and Explorer yacht is based on the Ricochet 16.50. Fitted out in Switzerland by her first owner, she is exceptional in layout and equipment for self-reliant sailing. With an extensive workshop area, insulation from hot or cold, plentiful storage and an easily handled rig she is an ideal companion for longer stays away.
Nina Soraya has been used extensively in the Atlantic & Baltic areas where she excels at high latitude sailing. Initially coded to ‘Cat 2’ by the present owners she was then not used commercially and consequently the coding has been allowed to expire in October 2024.
For the longer distance sailor, or those looking to create charter services, Nina Soraya would be in her element, her comfort and practicality make her a great choice. She is extremely self-sufficient with her solar panels, large battery banks, wind generation and water maker. A big boat that moves well with her extended sail plan and Volvo Penta 120hp engine matched to a Bruntons feathering auto prop.
She offers many of the attributes of Garcia, Boreal, Alu Marine, Cigale and Bestevaer yachts.
Owned currently by an Engineer/Adventurer, her systems and engine have been maintained accordingly with frequent services and engine oil changes. She is fully ready and prepared to voyage practically anywhere.

Cabin
The spacious interior has been thoughtfully designed for extended offshore cruising, offering comfortable accommodation for up to eight people. A raised pilothouse provides excellent all-weather visibility from the inside helm position, creating a warm, protected watchkeeping area that is ideal for passagemaking.
Forward of the accommodation is a dedicated workshop with extensive storage, providing invaluable space for maintenance, spare parts and expedition equipment. Ahead of this is a large foc’sle offering additional storage for sails, fenders and ground tackle, with a watertight bulkhead separating it from the living accommodation for added safety.
The forward accommodation comprises a generous starboard double cabin with a hanging locker and shelving for storage. Opposite, to port, is the forward heads compartment featuring an electric toilet, wash basin, heated towel rail and separate shower enclosure with pressurised hot and cold water.
Stepping up into the wheelhouse, the inside helm position is located to starboard alongside a dedicated chart table, electrical distribution panel, navigation equipment and chart stowage. Opposite is a comfortable settee providing a sheltered seating area for guests, while numerous lockers and drawers offer excellent storage throughout.
Descending into the aft guest accommodation, a spacious double cabin is situated to port with generous hanging lockers and storage. Opposite, to starboard, is the day heads and utility room, equipped with an electric toilet, wash basin, shower, washing machine, tumble dryer and the Webasto hydronic diesel heating system, all served by a pressurised hot and cold water supply.
The main saloon provides a welcoming social space, centred around a comfortable U-shaped dinette with updated upholstery surrounding an adjustable teak table. The adjacent linear galley is exceptionally well equipped for extended cruising, featuring a Wallas diesel-fired cooker with oven, refrigerator, freezer and extensive storage throughout.
Occupying the full beam aft is the impressive owner’s cabin, offering a generous double berth to port together with large hanging lockers, drawers and abundant storage. To starboard is the private en-suite heads compartment with an electric toilet, wash basin and separate shower, again supplied with pressurised hot and cold water.
