Beneteau’s provisional figures put continuous range at 350 nautical miles at 8 knots, with a 10% fuel reserve. Fuel consumption scales with speed: at a gentle 5-knot cruise, around 1 litre per mile delivers a range in excess of 600 nautical miles, tapering to roughly 400 nautical miles at 7 knots, 200 nautical miles at 10 knots and around 160 nautical miles at her 17.6-knot top end – so it’s simply a case of picking the speed that suits the passage. All of this comes from an 800-litre (211 US gallon) aluminium fuel tank.

A reversible forward backrest flips to create forward-facing seating beside the upper helm, so a couple of people can keep the skipper company underway, and the dinette adds a power point for a portable grill or raclette and a sociable meal up top.

Electronics at the upper helm include a 16-inch multifunction display with provision for a second, along with Zipwake trim controls, autopilot and proportional bow and stern thrusters, all within easy reach. A separate guest cabin to port houses bunk beds, with a small overhead hatch for airflow, opening hull portholes for a cross breeze, and a bit more space at the head of the berths for a shelf and small locker – a small touch that makes the room feel less boxy and more useful day to day. Each berth again gets its own reading light with USB socket.

While the outgoing 35 used a forward galley that ruled out high-level storage, the 37 moves the galley further aft on the starboard side. It’s a U-shaped design finished in Corian rather than laminate, with a stainless steel sink, mixer tap for cold/hot pressurised water, a 2-burner gas hob and gas oven, cupboards and shelving, sliding glass and a 130-litre fridge as standard (a 150-litre fridge and 50-litre freezer are available as options). A shallow cutout lets crew step out of the way so people can get past along the central walkway – a small detail that makes a real difference living aboard.

An Adaptive Cockpit for Life at Anchor

The self-draining cockpit has been ergonomically designed to maximise space, with the “Adaptive Cockpit” offering the option of a sliding seat upgrade for even more flexibility. Drop-in sockets take a passerelle, and a swimming-pool-style ladder can be hooked over the transom in holiday mode, with a secondary ladder beneath the platform, complete with handle, always available as backup.

Forward, the flat foredeck offers space for loose cushions while still working as a proper deck area, with the anchor sitting in a bow roller ahead of the windlass and chain locker. The forward seat hinges and drops flat for running, or locks in position for use in harbour, and the hatch over the owner’s cabin lifts clear without blocking the deck.

Thanks to the large reverse windscreen, the lower helm station is about as good as you’ll find on a small flybridge-equipped cruiser, with a full-beam windscreen with side panes, three electric wipers with a synchronisation system, and a defogger keeping visibility clear. Hydraulic steering and a leather-wrapped wheel give light, precise handling, with engine dials – revolution counter, fuel gauge, alarms, rudder angle indicator – close to hand and space in the console for navigation electronics.

A big skipper’s door and side gate make single-handed work easy, while a fold-down platform and a dedicated plinth for the throttle and trim tabs are thoughtful ergonomic touches.
