Avocet is probably the best example of a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 29.2 available on the market. Not only does she receive the best of care year round but has also received upgrades on a regular basis. The current owners have left nothing to chance when it comes to maintenance and everything is presented beautifully. Engines and Propulsion

Fitted with a Yanmar 18hp twin cylinder diesel engine, Avocet is serviced every year and is currently winterised. She uniquely has a Auto prop, an expensive addition to her inventory that adds to her performance (owner states an additional 1/2 knot) The engine is indirectly cooled.

The engine controls on deck include a engine temperature guage.

Electrics

Fitted with one starter battery and 3 domestic batteries, she also has shore power connection as well as engine charging and a solar panel (120 watt) with a 1000watt inverter

Safety equipment

Avocet comes with everything needed for safe passage, 2 foam fire extinguishers, a fire blanket, danbouy and a liferaft (in date until 12/11/2026) and even an up to date first aid kit

When at anchor, she is held secure by a Manson 11kg anchor with 30meters of chain and 40 meters of warp. Should a stern (or kedge) anchor be required, there is a CQR with 20 meters of chain and 20 meters of warp.

Accommodation

Avocet can accomodate up to six by way of a forward cabin with double berth, two single berths mid ships (saloon) and a generous double berth aft cabin. she is delightfully appointed with fresh window blinds and a clean interior.Each berth has additonal anvas "bags" to store effects in and keep everything looking tidy.

The heads are a good size, with, unusually, a 20 litre waste tank and a shower handle from the sink.

Hot and cold pressurised water is on tap, a twin water bag system offers 100litres and then switching over to a 50 litre reserve, all filled from a deck fitting.

For relaxing, there is a 4 speaker Focal stereo systemand a Vision Plus TV.

If your preference is to sit up in the cockpit, the sprayhood extends to a full canopy, easily put up by attaching a couple of hoops to the deck fittings and zipping the additoonal cover in. All canvas work as well as the spraydodgers and lazy bag are in excellent condition. Seating is comfortable with seat cushions and back cushions finished in dark blue

Catering is made simple by the gas cooker and hob and a fridge in addition to the food preparation area and sink.

 

 

Sails and Rigging

In addition to the head sail and the head sail, Avocet has a Spinnaker  complete with snuffer, all in excellent order, they are about 8 years old with the main fed into a Lazy Jack system.

The standing rigging was renewed in 2019 with the forestay being replaced in 2022.

At the top of the mast there is a LED Tricolor and VHF antenna for the AIS receiver.

Navigation

Avocet is well equiped and comes with DCSC Radio, a Raymarine Chart Plotter and a Meridian Chart Plotter connected to a laptop (Included). in additon to the usual depth speed and log mirrored up on deck.

 

Misc.

In addition to the amazing inventory of this lovely Jeanneau, there are a bag full of handbooks and manuals, with annual service invoices being available on request.

An extensive supply of spares is also include, such as a starter motor, sea water pump and fuel pump to name justa few.
