The Sigma 362 is a good looking David Thomas designed, wheel steered, aft cockpit, performance cruising sloop. Built by Marine Projects in 1988 “Phoenix” has been in her current ownership for around 10 years and appears to have been nicely upgraded and well maintained.

Construction

White Grp hull with red boot top stripe and red style line. External cast iron shallow fin keel with wings. Semi balanced rudder with rod linked wheel steering and emergency tiller. White GRP deck and superstructure with moulded in non-slip surfaces. Self draining aft cockpit with teak laid cockpit seats and cockpit sole. Internal, structural GRP moulding. Internal joiner work finished in teak.

Engine

Volvo D1 30, 28hp diesel engine. Freshwater cooled. Shaft drive to fixed pitch, 2 bladed propeller. Reversing reduction gearbox with single lever control. Electric start. Cruising speed approx. 5 knots, max 6 knots.

Tanks

Fuel: 90 litre stainless steel tank.

Fresh water: 220 litre in 2v plastic tanks.

Hot water:      25 litre tank heater by engine & 220v immersion

Electrics

12 volt system - 2 x 12 volt domestic batteries and 1 x 110ah (new in 2017) engine start battery (new in 2016). Alternator charging. Interior lights throughout. Navigation lights including bow, stern, masthead anchor, and steaming lights.
