Description

Unique example of the popular Sadler 32 with many changes to the standard fit-out. She has crossed the Atlantic twice, cruised the Caribbean, sailed in South African, European, UK and Baltic waters. Refitted in 2010.

Designed by David Sadler, built in 1984 by Sadler Yachts and fitted out by Fortuna Boat Builders.

SSR Registered. EU VAT paid.

Construction

Blue GRP epoxy painted hull, external cast iron deep fin keel and skeg supported rudder. Tiller steering. GRP white & cream epoxy painted decks and draining aft cockpit. White painted coachroof trunking. Painted non-slip deck surfaces. Stern stainless steel and teak platform with arch. Teak and mahogany internal joinery with patterned material finish to bulkheads.

Hull underwater surfaces epoxied in 2011 using Hampadur products.

Engine

Yanmar 2QM-15 15hp twin cylinder flexibly mounted diesel engine. Seawater cooled. Reversing reduction gearbox with shaft driven fixed 2 bladed propeller. Owners report 5.5kts @ 2,500rpm. 7.5kts @ 4,500rpm. 1.5 Ltrs/p/h at cruising revs.

Original engine, reconditioned 2010/11 with new pistons, valves, rings etc.

New Engine mounts and top end overhaul in 2015.

Spars & Rigging

Deck stepped masthead sloop with silver anodised alloy mast and slab reefing boom. Furling headsail system. Stainless steel wire standing rigging – age unknown. Original rig design babystay removed and forward and aft lowers added to reduce “panting” and stiffening rig for offshore cruising.

Running rigging led aft to cockpit.

Lewmar winches – 2 x Genoa, 2 x Secondary, 2 x Halyard.

Accomodation

Forward cabin; V-berth with infill and storage underneath, beige patterned upholstery, varnished door. Heads; ITT Jabsco seatoilet, washbasin with manual fresh water and wet locker to starboard. Doors enclose heads and hanging locker. Saloon; U-shaped setee to port. New varnished teak table. Setee berth to starboard. Galley; aft to port with Dometic Starlight gas Cooker, 2 burners, oven and grill (New 2014). S/steel sink, manual fresh water pump. Navigation station; Aft to stbd, large chart table to starboard with quarter berth behind.

Headliners in saloon replaced offering more headroom. All internal woodwork newly varnished. Saloon floors – varnished solid Redwood.

Clock & barometer.

Webaso Air Top 2000 Diesel heater with outlets in Saloon and V-berth.

Deck Equipment

Custom 30” high s/s pulpit and stanchions, to custom quarter guards. Stern extended platform with teak treads and s/s arch. Fold down stern bathing ladder and new solid wood stern gangway. Twin bow roller, 15kg CQR anchor c/w 10m of 10mm chain & 20m warp. Draining anchor locker. Bow & stern mooring cleats. Various mooring warps. Boathook. Coachroof grabhandles. Blue folding sprayhood. Forehatch cover. Mainsail Stackpack with Lazyjacks. Liferaft holder mounted forward of sprayhood – used for storage only.

Cockpit sole raised to stop back filling, laid with Tekdek. Large cave locker to port and gas bottle storage to starboard.
