Well thought of blue water cruiser designed by Holman & Pye and built by Oyster Marine in 1988 ? Hull no. 23. British Registered.
?Wild Oyster? is the coachroof version of the Oyster 406 and is a seakindly centre cockpit cruising yacht equally at home in costal waters or cruising the oceans of the world. She has two cabins excluding the saloon and two generous heads compartments. There were thirty five built and many have made impressive voyages. The owner has equipped her for short- handed offshore cruising.
Solid laminate white GRP hull, epoxied beneath the waterline from new, with encapsulated cast iron ballast in a long fin keel with skeg hung rudder. Whitlock wheel steering. White GRP deck, superstructure and self draining centre cockpit. Teak laid side decks, cockpit seats, helmsman’s seat and cockpit sole – all completely refurbished 2006. Treadmaster panels on fore and aft coachroof. Teak internal joinery, teak & holly sole boards.
Perkins 4.108 51HP four cylinder naturally aspirated diesel engine.
Fresh water cooled with heat exchanger and wet exhaust. Flex mounts. Electric start. New Borg Warner reversing reduction gearbox 2009 with shaft driven 3 bladed feathering Maxprop. Rope cutter on shaft. 7 knots cruising at approx 2,000 rpm.
88 gallons fuel in two 150 litre tanks under cabin sole.

Saloon – Settee berths to port and starboard (stbd converts to double berth) with pilot berth to starboard and bookshelves / lockers to port outboard. Fixed saloon table with folding leaves.
Galley – To port under cockpit - 2 x s/s sinks with foot operated discharge pump, H&C pressure water, Seagull filtered fresh water, manual salt and fresh water pumps, Plastimo gimbaled two burner gas cooker with oven and grill, top opening coolbox with Frigoboat refrigeration unit and good storage.
Chart table to starboard with large outward facing table, folding navigators seat and provision for instruments.
Aft head – To starboard with s/steel washbasin, H&C pressure water, full width bulkhead mirror, Jabsco manually operated sea / holding tank discharge WC, and shower with teak grating. Doors to both saloon and aft cabin.
Aft cabin – accessed from p & s with a good size double berth to starboard, an L shaped settee and good stowage comprising both hanging and storage lockers.
