Description

Wheel steered, cat rigged aft cockpit sloop with self-tacking jib. Spacious accommodation for 6 with aft cabin. Obviously well cared for and offered in very good cosmetic condition

Designed by Garry Hoyt and built by Freedom Yachts IOM, June 1987.

Construction

White GRP hull with external shallow draft lead fin keel.

Wheel steering to semi balanced spade rudder.

White GRP deck, superstructure and self draining aft cockpit.

 Moulded in non-slip deck surfaces.

Blue coachroof and hull style lines.

Teak internal joinery. Teak & Holly cabin sole.

Engine

Yanmar 3GM30F 27hp 3 cylinder diesel engine fitted forward of galley under saloon seating.

Engine stripped and rebuilt in 2004. Serviced annually (last service Dec’ 2016).

Reversing reduction gearbox with Brunpton 2 blade self-feathering. Auto prop’. “Stripper” 2 blade rope cutter. Cruising speed 6 knots. Max speed 7 knots.

12 Volt system supplied by 3 x 110 amp hour sealed batteries.

FYS Comments

“Idle Days” is in very good cosmetic condition both internally and externally. Hull polished/waxed and antifouled September ’17. She has been regularly updated in the current owners 15 years of ownership. An insurance survey was carried out in 2012 by the surveyor who inspected the yacht when purchased in 2002.

Due to recent retirement and more time for sailing, the owners have decided to move to a larger boat.
