Beneteau First 305, attractive fin keeled performance cruiser, tiller steered with a large aft cockpit and wide side decks for easy movement. Practical accommodation with 6 berths, good chart table, galley and separate toilet compartment.

In present family ownership for 15 years. Antifouled July 20.

Designed by Jean Berrett and built by Beneteau in 1988.


White GRP hull, deck, superstructure and self-draining aft cockpit.

Sugar scoop transom with bathing platform.

Cast iron external fin keel. 

Semi balanced spade rudder with tiller steering and tiller extension.

Moulded non-slip deck surfaces.  Teak slats on cockpit seating.

Internal GRP moulding with Teak internal joinery.



Volvo 2003 18 hp twin cylinder diesel with sea water cooling. 

Flex mounts.  Electric starting.  Single lever controls.

Reversing reduction gearbox with shaft driven fixed  2 bladed propeller.

Ambassador rope cutter. 

5 knots cruising, maximum approximately 6 knots. 

Filters/impellors etc regularly replaced for owner by local engineer.

Saloon - settee berths port and starboard with lee cloths, fixed central table with folding leaves and bottle storage. 

Galley - to port with Optimus gimballed two burner gas cooker with oven (gas system not guaranteed to meet current British Standards), two stainless steel sinks, cold pressurised water, Frifoboat refrigerated cool box and good stowage. 

Chart table -  to starboard with navigators seat, large chart table and stowage under. 

Heads – aft to starboard with GRP washbasin, cold pressurised water, teak shower grating, Jabsco sea toilet and wet locker. 

Aft cabin – to port large double berth, hanging locker and stowage under. Transom window and opening ports.
